Oilseed Crops

Oilseed crops are primarily grown for the oil contained within the seeds. Historically, the most lucrative and most commonly grown oilseed in Northeastern Alberta is canola. This crop, recognized by it's stunning flowering season in mid-summer, can produce seeds containing up to 40% oil.
